Résumé
This briefing note presents initial observations on the use of AI during Quebec’s 2026 election campaign. It was written on September 17, 2026; it therefore focuses on the pre-election period as well as the first portion of the official campaign (which began on August 27). This preliminary analysis shows that the anticipated risks appear to have materialized only anecdotally, at least in the public sphere. However, it appears that blind spots remain regarding AI’s actual importance in this type of democratic exercise.
